Lab Tech position open in the Glomski lab
The Glomski laboratory is looking for a dynamic individual to perform guided research and aid in lab management as a Laboratory and Research Specialist.
This position is expected to provide scientific assistance to the P.I. and other lab personnel by performing experiments and keeping the laboratory running smoothly. The Specialist will interact with many organizations outside the laboratory including vendors, University safety organizations, other laboratories, and core facilities. Our research focuses on bacteria-host interactions, for more information Google search “Ian Glomski Virginia”.
Candidates should have a minimum of a B.S. in Biology, or related fields, and at least 1 to 2 years post-bachelor’s research experience or a Master’s degree. This position requires an individual with excellent organizational skills, laboratory skills, and communication skills. Specializations in Molecular Biology, Genetics, Cell Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, and/or Immunology are a plus. Ideal candidates will have experience working in BSL2 and BSL3 research environments. Candidates must be able to successfully pass a Federal Bureau of Investigation Security Risk Assessment for research with Select Agent and be willing to work under BSL3 conditions.
