Immunology Faculty Positions Case Western Reserve University
The Department of Pathology at Case Western Reserve University is recruiting
faculty to expand its immunology research program. Faculty candidates will be
considered in all areas of immunology and host defense. The positions will be
supported by substantial start-up packages and opportunity to participate in the
interdepartmental Immunology Training Program, which is based in the
Department of Pathology. The program’s strengths include fundamental
immunology (innate immunity, immune signaling, antigen presentation and T cell
biology), immunology of infectious diseases (esp. tuberculosis and HIV),
autoimmunity (e.g. IBD, SLE) and robust interdepartmental and interinstitute
within CWRU and the Cleveland Clinic. Annual research funding in areas related
to immunology and infectious disease pathogenesis exceeds $100M at CWRU
and affiliated institutions.
Candidates at the Assistant Professor level should have a substantial trajectory
toward developing a rigorous, externally-funded immunology research program.
Candidates at the Associate and Full Professor levels should have current
research funding with a national/international scientific reputation and a history of
mentorship and leadership.
Evaluation of applications will commence immediately and continue until Dec. 15,
2013. To apply, please forward a cover letter, CV, statement of research
interests and the names of 3 referees in a single pdf file to Derek Abbott, M.D.,
Ph.D., Associate Professor of Pathology, by email to dwa4@case.edu.
In employment, as in education, Case Western Reserve University is committed
to Equal Opportunity and Diversity. Women, veterans, members of
underrepresented minority groups, and individuals with disabilities are
encouraged to apply. Case Western Reserve University provides reasonable
accommodations to applicants with disabilities. Applicants may contact the Office
of Inclusion, Diversity and Equal Opportunity at 216-368-8877 to request an
accommodation at any point in the application and hiring process; determinations
will be made on a case-by-case basis.
