Usergroups?

Do we want to get a few more usergroups defined here, say Staff and/or Postdocs? Probably doesn't matter unless you foresee a need for group-based access to areas of the site (grad students only gossip corner etc).

Nice work on the site! There is a strobing inline ad giving me a seizure at the moment, but most of them have been fairly unobtrusive.

It appears I've been promoted to Faculty already. If only it were so easy IRL!

Might be a good idea. For now, we've set it up so that it's basically 'Students' and 'Everyone else=Faculty'. About the ads, most of them don't seem to obtrusive, but you could always use AdBlocker if it becomes a problem for you.

Just FYI, I didn't know about this forum until Adam sent me an email directly about it.

I am not sure if you wanted faculty to use this site, but if you do you should make sure that we receive something telling us that it exists and that we are welcome users.

I just sent another one to Sandy to forward. Let me know if it comes through; if it doesn't, I'll find a way to get it to all the appropriate faculty.
