The University of Virginia School of Medicine Postdoctoral Research Associate Beirne Carter Immunology Center
The Beirne Carter Immunology Center at the University of Virginia seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to work in the laboratory of Dr. Loren Erickson. The incumbent joins an interactive group of motivated scientists to study the mechanisms that regulate B cell differentiation in autoimmunity. The research is NIH sponsored and uses clinically relevant autoimmune models to elucidate cellular and molecular mechanisms of disease development and progression, and define critical signaling pathways as potential therapeutic targets. Candidates must have a Ph.D. degree and demonstrated expertise in molecular genetics, immunology, or autoimmunity. Candidates must have effective oral and written communication skills. Preference will be given to those with specific experience in transgene construction for gene silencing and expression, and in vivo/intravital imaging. The Beirne Carter Center consists of faculty with research efforts in diverse areas of immunology, including viral immunology, tumor immunology, and autoimmune disease. The immunology community in the Beirne Carter Center is outstanding with collaborative and supportive groups of over 30 scientists with primary appointments in both basic and clinical departments.
