How to get rid of those annoying ads
It's come to my attention recently that people are getting annoyed by the ads on the site. Unfortunately, that is a side effect of having free web hosting.
There are, however, ways to beat the system. If you use Safari, Firefox or Google Chrome, you can install free browser add-ons that modify the way your browser works. One of the most popular (and one that I can vouch for) is called Adblock. Once you add it to your browser, it will abolish nearly every advertisement from every webpage. I highly recommend it, and I always use it.
On the (extremely rare) occasion that blocking an ad prevents a page from working properly, you can turn Adblock off temporarily or add that webpage to a list of exceptions. The only time I ever saw this happen, though, was on Youtube a while back, and they've since fixed it to be compatible.
Below are the links to the add ons for Safari, Chrome and Firefox. Follow the instructions on the page to install the add on (it should only involve a couple clicks).
Firefox: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/
Chrome: https://chrome.google.com/extensions/detail/gighmmpiobklfepjocnamgkkbiglidom
Safari: http://safariadblock.com/
*Edit: It seems that in order to use Adblock in Safari 5, you have to turn on the extensions menu. Instructions on how to do that are here: http://lifehacker.com/#!5558026/enable-the-extensions-menu-in-safari-for-future-add+ons
